Send Our Stupid to the Army

Ok, for those of you offended by the title - I suggest you stop reading now and continue on with your day. For those of you who laughed or were intrigued by the title - please continue.

Here's my theory - those who fail academically in high school leave that atmosphere to become store stockers, Mickey D burger flippers, or bums. Meanwhile their intelligent counterparts are still busy really working hard for a living - going to college and still holding one (or more!) of those menial jobs to pay for it all...by "it all" I mean their lives. Those who don't do well generally stay at home as long as possible and suck their friends and loved ones dry with their lack of ambition.

So here's my idea: Anyone who is making below a 2.0 GPA at graduation is mandatorily signed into the army for four years.

Now here's the part to chew on:

1. Four years in the army accounts for housing, food, clothing, and education. Those who were about to swindle their way through mom and dad's money just got a "free" ride.

2. The intelligent are needed here at home - to study and help our country advance. You don't send the geeky chessplayer into the football field - you send the burly jock. Same here - you don't put one of your most valuable assets in the line of fire - unless they choose to be there of course.

3. The army requires quite a bit of brain numbing and washing to get these men to be "brave". They have to condition you - and who learns better from constant conditioning and survelance than those who don't know what else to do?

4. This leaves the menial jobs for those people trying to pay their way through school - for those who didn't live under this mandation - for those who have lost their high-dollar jobs during the recession, and many many more who deserve it more.

5. And last but not least - this improves the strength of our military from the onset - growth is power.

Now - I can't answer all of your questions. This to me just seemed like a way to strengthen our interior. If you don't like it - great! Ide love to hear what you have to say - same if you love it!

Spread the love, and the wealth...

I read an article today about Chinese factories being shut down and millions of it's people are now even more poor than they were before. Here's my thoughts:

First off - chinese factories make good...shoes, for example, for the U.S. We have our athelete's wear the shoes that were so well made in China. China gets $2 for a pair of shoes, we pay $2 million to the athlete who wears them.

My logic: The athlete just made 2 million in endorsements for the shoes he's wearing. That means if that guy would keep a quarter of what he earned off that one deal - and send the rest to families in China he could support 150 families for A YEAR, and with a decent life - not in poverty like it would be here.

So that's why I say - Spread the love, spread the wealth...

Thanks for listening - now Chew on it!

Where do they get off?

Where does the RNC get off? Ridiculous - i'll just say that for now...please read:

This is from CNN:

"(CNN) — It's the one-month anniversary of President Obama's swearing-in, and not surprisingly the Republican National Committee is out with its' verdict: It's been "disappointing."
"Obama's first month has been marked by wasteful spending, failed bipartisanship, and questionable ethics," the RNC said in a document circulated to reporters.
The RNC specifically faults the new president for failing to garner a significant amount of GOP votes for his massive stimulus plan, despite pledges of bipartisanship during the presidential campaign.
Republicans also criticize the stimulus measure for including some money for interest groups, despite the president's earlier view that the bill would be kept clean of excess spending projects.
The lengthy document goes on to criticize Obama for not being more transparent with what is in the stimulus bill and appointing individuals to government agencies who appear to have lobbied in the past."

OOOOOK. Lot's to say on this one...

First of all - Bipratisanship?!? Can they really say that was Obama's fault? It was pretty apparent that the GOP won't extend a ten-foot pole over the party line to work with the rest of the country...not the other way around. Even a moderate could see how this "fact" has been manipulated from the beginning.

Next - is wasteful spending. He's only been in office A MONTH people! Please tell me that you don't judge someone's bank accounts after only a month of having them open?? Not to mention the extrememly wasteful spending in the last stimulus package that was signed - by Bush! Where is all of that money - and when did we get to see the entire bill? Where was that transparency?

And, now speaking of transparency - another thing the GOP claims Obama has not lived up to - again only one month in office mind you. Please visit HERE:http://appropriations.house.gov/ if you ever thought you were kept in the dark about the stimulus bill. This link has been posted on hundreds of websites, news websites, and tickers. Surely one of the GOP at the RNC had seen it?! I figure an exact copy of the entire legislation is plenty transparent. Oh yeah - the traditionalists in office don't know how to work the internet - it's too new fangled...plus if you start airing your politics to the public people will find out your secrets! uh oh.

And one last dig that isn't quite related - did you know my governor - Rick Perry - the republican governor of Texas, had almost opted out of stimulus assistance! So - the republicans make a stink about paying for the stimulus - and then since we have to pay for it we don't want what we're paying for?!?! Where does that make sense? If you know PLEASE post a response, I would really love to hear the logic.

Thanks for listening - now go Chew on it!

Justice...?

Before reading this post please read this short blurb - "Sex Offender Wins Raffle for Abuse Victim Charity"

Now, I hear that this is...wrong. Yeah wrong - and it is.

Let's try and think from both perspectives.

This guy could be trying to benefit the organization that fight people like him, because he knows he's wrong and doesn't want anybody else to be victimized - so he buys a raffle ticket. What were the odds of him winning?

Now, he's got the ticket - but there has to be chance - and luck involved right? So who in the vast cosmo's out there decided the best fate was for this man to acctually win that $500,000??

He's got the money - he's even donating $100,000 of it straight to the charity. He wants to use the rest to "better his life".

The Question: Is it right for this man to have the money?

My answers is NO. Here's why:
I have personally known, and still know, at least 2 women who were sexually molested as children. I can tell you that the effects of that molestation are always present in their lives, and something they will never forget. The fact that this man had charges against him, as recently as 2000, makes me gape in awe at our justice system. These girls will be scarred for life because of this man. They will have unthinkable thoughts, nightmares, and more than likely be turned to a life of recklessness trying to free themselves from that memory. It's heartbreaking that this man wasn't incarcerated at the time of this raffle. Why wasn't he? Why could he even participate? That is not right.

And so - I wind up by saying that this man was fully capable of playing, and winning, this raffle...but it stems from lack of judgement on the side of the people. We really need to start thinking about the long term effects of the molestation crimes committed before releasing felons.

What goes up...

What goes up...

Stays Up! When gas prices rose to almost $4 a gallon across the country it affected prices of everything else. Anything that had to be transported from one place to another had a raise in its price. That means that EVERYTHING - EVERYTHING - went up. And then what happened? What goes up must come down right? Not so much. The price of gas went up - and it came down. But, the prices of everything else went up - and stayed up. Now the only thing going down is our stocks and our employment rate.

Here's my problem - if gas prices were the scape goat of inflation then why hasn't inflation seceded yet? Gas prices have gone down and shouldn't other prices follow suit?

Not only that - but there is more unemployment now than before the gas prices, and retail prices, rose. You would think the people who manufacture these items would be happy to lower their prices again seeing as there's a recession, and they now have 15% less staff to pay for. So now, not only are companies firing people (laying them off - to be pc) but they're also raking more profit off the top by continuing to price their merchandise at an inflated rate.

Only one word for this - uncool!

Priorities

Last night as I was watching the Late Night News, I listened to a blurb on the expense of switching all TV's to HD TV's. It was pretty interesting, did you know they were giving away coupons/vouchers for converter boxes? Oh, by they I mean our government. That's right, our tax money is going to buying converter boxes for other people's tv's. The funny thing is that they've already ran out - and are now adding people to a waiting list to give even more money away!

I thought about this a second and realised that the government won't pay for my healthcare, they won't buy my daughters school new textbooks, computers, or quality food, but they can pay to make sure everyone can watch TV.

Where did our priorities go?
